I wasn't exactly in a cave this weekend but a basic outdoor retreat with clean mod cons in the lovely Derbyshire area of Cromford. You know! Where Arkwright's engine was invented (no not Arkwright from Open All Hours) history lesson later! A Crag away from Matlock. I was at the Venture Center for a health and fitness bootcamp.
Organised by a lovely lady called Claire Moore and run with the help of an amazing inspirational couple, Kelly Rennie super athlete and fitness model, medal winner at the recent natural body building regional championship, and her partner Paul Glazby, fitness and training coach, former DJ (does great boot camp music) and Bootcamp session Kettle bell trainer/leader. We did fitness bootcamp style, walked up (or should I say Claire led us on a route march) up every hill - yes every hill - around Cromford. Paul and Kelly believe in eating everything and anything they want whenever the want as their body will stay healthy and achieve its optimun weight and size.
Only condition is that you cut out certain things and eat organic pure clean food, therefore No grain, No dairy, No processed foods or other 'crap' 'rubbish', No transfats, loads of nuts and fruit and cakes made with these ingredients. Well I was astounded how good it was and in only 2 days felt great - even better than I usually do apart of course from the achy leg muscles. It could also have something to do with the nil alcohol, nil TV and nil computer, oh yes and the going to bed at 10pm instead of 2 am. I am after all a 59+year young in training for the 37 year old body to match the 37 year old mindset. You may mock but I am a product of my products and the beliefs I hold.
I am studying this further and introducing these principles into my diet so I can achieve my goal and in turn help more people feel as great as I do.
Remember! Be grateful every day that we woke up this morning! And that "Nothing Tastes As Good As Healthy Feels"!
